hey, remember when the holidays meant a break from school...and...lots of presents...and....sleeping in....and... yeah...sigh. m, miss you lots...and our baking adventures :( spent last sunday through wednesday in the windowless basement at norlin. :\
a reminder of the real world: took my first trip to vail (snowboarding failure...again...oops. thanks girls!) two weeks ago:
it's been downhill ever since. fret not, just a few more weeks!...must. persevere. must. stay awake. (for lelise, flat stanley? this was the smallest one i had) back to reading. happy turkey day! :-D to my wonderful and supportive friends and family: <3. so much to be thankful for this month...
Can we talk about how pale i am?!?! Sad :( Please also note the look of clear trepidation. Even the snuggie fort the boys built for me is not going to ward off cold fingers and toes today :( Pencil skirts and all forms of pump heels also don't hold up, no matter how many layers I try to cover them with. I've seriously had to dryclean my suits on a weekly basis. Let's not even talk about the state of my tennis shoes...
As you have probably guessed from my prolific facebook updates, finals time is right around the corner. Maybe it’s just because our class is so small, but most of the school (including faculty) is logged in 90% of the day, and subsequently – I get play by play status reports of everything from “I’m eating a hot pocket” to “There are too many undergrads walking around the SBA corridor.”
....This is also why I need to disable my account between Thanksgiving and my birthday, because there is absolutely not a shot in hell that I’m going to get any work done when I refresh the page every 30 seconds to see what’s going on downstairs. Oh, effing technology! As IM track, flag football (league champs huzzahh!!!), my mentoring program, and the ad hoc faculty hiring community have shut down for the month, exam prep is in full swing (read: gunners are gunning). I am therefore taking any and every excuse to leave my room and Wolf, and that includes more work. And snow.
Long post sometime this week. I need a break from 12 hour study sessions, damn 1L life.
it's been a while! suffice it to say that law school is living up to its reputation, and in the spirit of keeping things in perspective (especially before thanksgiving!), here's a daily dose of cheese (nothing gets you through a rough week like a few good clichés....and...you know...mcdonald's 24-hour iced coffee on tap).
greatest lesson learned this year (finally!): nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent.
word. i am so incredibly grateful for all the love in my life, and for learning how to filter out the noise.
so um.....yeah. here are a few snaps! (last one stolen from liane, didn't bring a camera last week, so we're waiting on gobeens...) <3
we like food and all activities associated with the act of eating. but aside from our obsession with culinary delights, the lbc's are committed to frolicking, further developing our domestic diva skillzzzz, expanding our musical horizons, keeping our maternal instincts under control, and devoting all of the aforementioned love to our amazing friends. all in a good day's work. oh, and we like naps.
